How it works
LinguaLayers guides you through the practical work while keeping every stage visible and reviewable.
Photograph pages with your phone or upload images you already have.
Straighten pages, split spreads and mark the words that need a new layer.
Translate the story while keeping its meaning, tone and surrounding pages in view.
Review the layout, generate sticker sheets and add the finished language layers to the book.
AUTOMade for real life
Capture one page after another, return to the project later, and move through alignment, translation and print preparation at your own pace.
What you need
LinguaLayers arranges the translated text on A4 sticker sheets. Print at 100% scale, cut around each label, then place it over the original text.

Any ordinary inkjet or laser printer that accepts A4 sheets.
White matte, full-sheet A4 self-adhesive label paper made for your printer type.
Scissors are enough. A craft knife and cutting mat—or a cutting machine—are optional.
A typical 40-page picture book uses about 5 A4 sheets, but this can vary with the number and size of its text areas.
Why people use it
Make more of the stories a child already loves available in the language spoken at home.
Build vocabulary, reading confidence and comprehension in a language you are learning.
The finished experience stays physical: a familiar book you can hold, revisit and enjoy.
Build useful reading materials even when the language you need has a limited publishing catalogue.

Our story
LinguaLayers grew from a simple family problem: how do you share the books a young child loves while also giving a heritage language a real place in everyday life?
Rather than replacing physical books with another screen, the idea was to create a careful new language layer—one that could live inside storytime itself.

Reflections from families who have been helping us test and improve LinguaLayers.
“Our daughter was just as engaged after we added the language layers. They felt like part of the book and didn’t distract her from the pictures or the story.”
“The layers helped us keep repeated lines consistent throughout the book. My partner could finally follow the Russian version too.”
“Having the translation prepared meant we spent less time thinking about individual words and more time bringing out the humour, rhythm and details in the story.”
